Eclair announces the EclairColor Release of Robert Guédiguian’s “La Villa” in Spain

Paris (France) and Barcelona (Spain), 23 March 2018 / Eclair, a leader in content services for the motion picture and television industries in Europe (Ymagis Group – FR0011471291, MAGIS, PEA-PME eligible), announced today that Robert Guédiguian’s latest film, “La Villa,” will be available in EclairColor in select cinemas in Spain. The film, which was originally released in France on 29 November 2017 (Diaphana Distribution), opens in cinemas across Spain today (Golem Distribucion).

“La Villa” is the third film in Spain to be released in EclairColor HDR, as well as the first non-Spanish film, after “La Piel Fria” and “Tierra Firme” in 2017. It is available in EclairColor HDR at the Cines Verdi in Barcelona as from today.

“Screening the film at Barcelona’s Cines Verdi in EclairColor HDR will allow audiences to discover “La Villa” with an exceptional image quality, heightened contrast and a wider colour range,” explains Angel Martin, Eclair Spain and Portugal Manager. “We are thrilled to release the film with our high dynamic range technology, especially as it is the first foreign language film available in EclairColor HDR in Spain. We are very optimistic that others will come next.”

There are currently more than 120 EclairColor-equipped cinema screens with content released in EclairColor HDR every week for a total of 68 feature-length films to date. EclairColor HDR is powered by highly-advanced projection systems available from Sony Digital Cinema 4K and Barco.

EclairColor is a revolutionary HDR technology that is affordable and accessible to all cinemas, from arthouses to the largest multiplexes. EclairColor technology was praised by moviegoers in an audience survey conducted in France by an independent body, L’Observatoire de la Satisfaction, which revealed 97.3% of moviegoers that attended the screening of a film in EclairColor intend to repeat the experience and over two thirds will be recommending it to their family and friends. Audiences spontaneously mentioned the beauty of the images, stating they are of superior quality, more colorful and brighter in comparison with a standard image. More importantly, the projection in EclairColor significantly increased the level of appreciation of the film versus a screening in standard format.
